What Loss Taught Me About Living More Deeply
I lost a close friend and business partner in an unexpected, tragic, and very public way. One moment she was here — laughing, making plans — and the next, she was gone.
For more than twenty years, I’ve worked in public relations, helping people and organizations define their mission, shape how they’re seen, and tell their stories with clarity and intention. I’ve seen that when a mission is clear and the story reflects it honestly, the work becomes stronger and more effective.
Over time, through both my work and my own life transitions, I came to understand something deeper. The real power is not in refining a story. It is in living one that is true.
That realization expanded my work into coaching. If public relations is about how we relate to the outside world, coaching is about how we relate to ourselves. Our values. Our choices. The lives we are actually living.
Today, my work bridges both. I help people align the story they are telling with the life they are leading.
Wherever you are in your story, I walk beside you as you reconnect with what is true for you and begin to live from that place.
As your coach, I don’t hand you a new story. I help you uncover the one your soul already knows is waiting to be told. Together, we’ll find the places where the old script no longer fits, and create a new chapter grounded in authenticity, courage, and joy.
Because you are not bound by the story you’ve been told.
You have the power to create the one you want.
You already hold the pen — I’ll help you find the courage to use it.
Notes on Being Human is my newsletter — an honest look at what it means to live, grow, and heal in real time. I write about the chapters that shape us: empty nesting, loss, love, breakups and divorce, co-parenting, reinvention, and the quiet moments of joy that remind us we’re still becoming.
It’s not advice — it’s a conversation. A reminder that being human isn’t about getting it “right,” it’s about being real. Each note is written with the hope that you’ll see a bit of yourself in it — and feel a little less alone, a little more hopeful, and a lot more alive.

When my son once told me, “Your kinder and gentler divorce made me just the right amount of tough,” I knew I had done something right in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of my life.

After a decade of raising my kids full-time, my husband’s business went under when the recession hit, and suddenly, I had to go back to work. I was terrified.
